Women faced with an unplanned pregnancy often feel they have no choices. But there are other choices besides abortion. Not only are there other choices besides abortion, there are numerous agencies in Minnesota to medically and financially help a pregnant woman who decides to either raise their baby or create an adoption plan. Before you decide on an abortion, or other options besides abortion you should confirm that you are indeed pregnant. You can get a free pregnancy test at WomenSource.
WomenSource pregnancy crisis and resource center is open for appointments and walk-ins Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with varying hours for your convenience. Other appointment times may also be arranged by simply calling 763-208-0076.
Pregnant? You have Options
If you are not comfortable with the choice of abortion, creating an adoption plan is an option some women find comforting. But it is rarely an easy decision and counseling and support services can be critical to your peace of mind. In Minnesota you can get a list of support and adoption agencies by calling 651-431-4656.
Another choice besides abortion is to parent, or perhaps find a family member who could raise the baby. In either case, you may qualify for financial help for prenatal care and childbirth care. Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare may pay for all or a portion of physicians, clinics, hospitals and other related medical expenses. Food stamps and Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) have several support programs.
