Our History & Timeline:
Early 2006: TLC Options for Women (then Total Life Care, or TLC) defines the Northwest suburban area of Osseo/Maple Grove & Brooklyn Park as an area in great need of a pregnancy resource center.
October 2006: Planning meeting held at St. Albert’s Parish in Albertville. Agenda items include prayer, networking, finance, personnel, site/location, choosing an Executive Director, legal (filing state & federal paperwork), budget.
December 2006: First donation received from Mark Vogel & family
“Our family made a resolution this Christmas to all make a charitable donation to an organization that promotes life and helps women choose life in our area. I am proud that many of my eight children personally contributed, in significant amounts for them, to your cause…”
September 2007: Recruitment & informational meetings held
“Come and learn about what it takes to establish a lifecare center and Find out a role. People are needed to serve on the board, volunteer as office assistants, provide counseling, plan fundraisers, give presentations, etc… This new resource can only be created with the help of many people. Won’t you join us?”
Struggles were many in the beginning: Finding a suitable location. Getting board members who were committed and engaged. Getting our 5013c. Setting up policies and procedures. Getting volunteers. Getting established in the community for funding and marketing. Getting abortion minded clients to the center. We succeeded through faith, perseverance and many dedicated individuals.
